Description: Shell World is one of the world’s oldest and largest
retailers of exotic seashells and coral. Visitors
will find over 1 million sea shells gathered from around the world, as well as
shell and coral jewelry, and a wide variety of shell novelties, nautical
collectibles, and tropical decorative items.
Shell World regularly hosts over a quarter of a million visitors each
year.
Location: Kissimmee
- A truly interactive shopping experience. Upon
entering this 12,000-sq. ft. store, guests find themselves on an enormous
seaside wharf surrounded by millions of fascinating seashells.
To the sounds of crashing waves, visitors can comb through these shells
collected from around the world. Just
past the wharf, visitors are welcomed into a tropical village by the Caribbean
sounds of steel drums and calypso music. Under
the cover of coconut palm trees, guests stroll through hundreds of finely
crafted nautical and tropical gift and decorative items.
In the heart of the village area is a tropical hut where visitors can
pick their own pearl right out of the oyster.
Next to the village area is a 1,000-sq. ft. pier, which boasts the
largest selection of seashell creations in Florida.
At the end of the pier is a 600-sq. ft. tiki hut, which is home to Shell
World’s Seashell Museum. This
interactive and education journey into the world of shell creatures is free and
open to the public. The Kissimmee
store is located at marker 13 on Highway 192.

History:
Shell World is owned and operated by the Crant family who has
been involved in the sea shell business for three generations.
Shell
World
opened its first Orlando location in 1976 and was one of
the first major retailers within Orlando’s tourist corridor.
